All the way back in July, everyone seemed to celebrate National Lipstick Day. MAC Cosmetics was giving away 1 free lipstick to everyone (no purchase necessary). My coworker ended up going for me as I couldn’t step away from work. MAC was only giving out certain shades, which seemed to be very eccentric shades. She picked me up Flatter Me Fierce, which is a blue lavender purple shade.
It’s honestly so pretty that I wanted to wear it as soon as possible. But when I got home and tried it, I couldn’t wait to take it off. It’s a very bold colour for sure. There was a snapchat filter before that gave you lavender lips and I really loved it so I thought this would give me the same look. NOPE! Flatter Me Fierce looked horrible on me. SO horrible that I didn’t take any photos because it just makes me look sick. My teeth look so incredibly yellow that I almost look like a smoker. The formula of this lipstick wasn’t my favourite either. I’m not sure if it’s because the colour is so light, but it was very streaky and I almost needed to go over my lips twice to achieve an opaque lip.
This lipstick would accompany a costume for Halloween perhaps, but definitely not for every day wear unless you can actually pull this shade off. The lipstick was creamy and felt good on my lips, but it was streaky and needed two coats for full coverage. I would not buy MAC’s Flatter Me Fierce or recommend it to you.
