Over the past year, I’ve been taking my product shots outside to capture the natural lighting. I’ve also been photographing everything on top of these cute coasters from Carli D that look like geodes! They are very unique looking and make all my products look 10x nicer in photos haha. After months of use, and a friendship formed with Carmen herself, I’m here to announce our project together – a makeup mixing tray! This piece is custom made for the beauty guru in all of you!
Carli D’s Makeup Mixing Tray has three clear spots that help you colour match correctly when mixing your foundations, lipsticks, and other makeup products on the tray. I would suggest applying all your makeup on the larger area of the board, mixing it, and then transferring it over to the clear spots to see the true colour.
Each tray is custom made by Carli D, so there are no custom orders for colours. They are roughly 6” x 4”, and are all food safe grade, so it’s safe to mix your makeup products on it and apply it to your skin. They’re also completely soap and water safe – so you can mix all the makeup you desire and clean it quickly without worrying about damaging the tray. These makeup mixing trays will be sold for $35 CDN plus tax, or in a bundle with 2 brushes (as seen in my photos) for $45 CDN plus tax. They will make the perfect stocking stuffers for Christmas, or even for a gift to yourself.
I used mine at first to mix two different concealers that weren’t exactly my shade, but when mixed together, they matched my skin perfectly! I used the smaller of the two brushes to mix together and apply right to the back of my hand (for reference).
I’ve also used it to mix different foundations as well. I have foundations and concealers that match me during the summer and during the winter, but when there’s a transition between having a tan and it fading, my foundations never seem to match perfectly. Having this makeup mixing tray has definitely made it easier to mix foundations, opposed to doing it on the back of my hand.
Easy to wipe off with makeup remover cloths, and colour match!
