My Bridesmaid Boxes

by Maddy (spilledpolish)

My Bridesmaid BoxesWith my wedding coming closer and closer (313 days!), and time feeling like it’s flying by, I ended up asking some of my friends to be part of my bridal party. I had asked back in October, but didn’t want to post anything yet until I had some other wedding details hammered out. That, and I thought posting about it over a year in advance would be too early (despite me knowing I might have asked too early lol). I’ve been a bridesmaid myself 4 times, and 2 out of the 4, I’ve been given a cute bridesmaid box when being asked if I’d be part of their day. I thought this was such a cute gesture and I see so many more people do it nowadays, so I wanted to put one together too!

I’ve seen some bridesmaid boxes that are very elaborate, but if you know me, I like to make things cute but still with a budget in mind. So my boxes are on the smaller side, compared to ones I’ve seen, but I think they include the perfect items. Each box was the same, with 2 things slightly different. Each box was filled with purple crinkle paper, a bridesmaid stemless champagne glass, a box of 2 brigadeiros, a custom nail polish, and a custom made illustration of me & each bridesmaid.

I got the boxes and crinkle paper from Creative Bag. The prices are very comparable to other craft stores, but this store had the most options of colours and sizes for the boxes, as well as the crinkle paper. If I recall, the 4 boxes and crinkle paper came up to just under $20 CDN.  The stemless champagne glasses were from Winners. They came in a pack of 4 for $12.99 CDN. The brigadeiros were from Chocollata (located inside the Food District at Square One Shopping Centre). I got each bridesmaid two brigaderios – one white chocolate and one salted caramel for about $5 CDN (Brigadeiros are almost like a mix between a truffle and fudge). Each nail polish was custom made by me (Beyond the Nail), and I made each bridesmaid a shade of purple to match my colour theme. I chose the best shade based on what shades of nail polish I knew they wore most. Lastly, the custom photos I had made for everyone was bought off Etsy. I found a seller (InkandFred) who makes custom bridesmaid illustrations. These cost me just under $15 CDN. In total, each bridesmaid box cost me just under $15 CDN each.

All of the girls I asked to be a bridesmaid did say yes, and I’m pretty sure they loved my bridesmaid boxes. I mean, they all ate the brigaderios right away and hung up their illustrations on their fridges 🙂 I’m super glad I decided to put together these boxes for them, as it shows how important they are to me. I’m not one for emotions or thoughtful words.. so if I can do something for someone, that’s how I show my love and appreciation.
