Things to do in Milton: Terre Bleu Lavender Farm

Terre Bleu Lavender Farm

About 45 minutes outside of Toronto, you’ll find Terre Bleu. It’s Ontario’s largest lavender farm. You’ll find rows and rows of lavender which makes for such a beautiful scenery. It’s the perfect spot for photos! The lavender only blooms in July and August, so you can expect it to be extremely busy if you’re visiting. They are open Monday-Sunday from 11:00am-5:00pm.

I took my mom, sister, & nephew here on Sunday morning right at 11:00am to avoid a huge rush of people. It was a good idea to go at this time too because it got really hot around 12:30pm and we were drenched with sweat. If you’re going with kids, I would suggest coming right at 11:00am, or come later in the afternoon to avoid the sun shining directly on you.

I wasn’t sure what to expect other than seeing lavender and taking photos, so it was nice to see all the other things the farm has to offer. They have a bee apiary, trails, an herb bar, a lavender distillery, and a shop. Other than coming here for mainly photo taking purposes, I am sure a ton of people come for their Lavender Ice Cream. It was amazing! Definitely a real treat given the hot weather. I also got their Lavender Peach Bellini and their Lavender Lemonade. Usually I wouldn’t spend money on so many things, but I have come to the realization that if I’m going out of my way to go to an event, I want to experience it for what it has to offer. So of course I had to try all the drinks and food!

There was also a huge line up for the well-known Big Yellow Door, and I couldn’t wait around for 20 minutes just for a photo. I got nice enough photos in other places at Terre Bleu. It’s really easy to get amazing photos here – I even saw a wedding party taking their photos.

If you’re also interested in yoga, you’ll love to know that Terre Bleu also offers yoga classes on Saturday and Sunday mornings throughout the summer. It’s the ideal place to escape and spend a sunny morning outdoors breathing in the lavender and taking in the beautiful landscape. The yoga classes also include admission to the farm following class.
