Sally Hansen - Miracle Gel Neon Collection

Summer is in full effect and I finally got around to swatching Sally Hansen’s Miracle Gel Neon Collection! I was way to busy in June to even do much blogging, let alone any social media posts, so this is a long awaited post. I know you have all probably seen this collection by now, but I figured I’d share it in case you want to see other swatches of it!

Sally Hansen’s Miracle Gel Line is a 2-step gel manicure with no UV lamp needed. Each polish, with the addition of their Miracle Gel Top Coat Activator, is made to last longer as it’s chip-resistant and cures under natural light (opposed to needing a UV Light).

The Neon Collection consists of 6 bright neon polishes (I did not receive the peach polish [Peach Please #51], so that’s the only one I’m missing), that don’t need any white base underneath them. From the photo above, this is the polishes in order from left to right: Electri-Lime (#52), Violet Voltage (#54), Miami Ice (#53), Lemon Chillo (#55), and Fuchsia Fever (#50).

Electri-Lime surprised me the most of this collection. I wasn’t expecting to like the colour on my nails as much as I do after swatching it. It took about 4 coats to achieve full opacity (no white base). My swatch above also includes use of Sally Hansen’s Miracle Gel Top Coat Activator.

My absolute favourite of the collection is Violet Voltage. It has such a nice colour against my skin tone whether I’m pale or tanned. It took 3 coats to achieve full opacity (no white base). My swatch above also includes use of Sally Hansen’s Miracle Gel Top Coat Activator.

Miami Ice took 3 coats to achieve full opacity (no white base). This colour REALLY pops, I love to wear it especially when wearing black so it stands out so much! My swatch above also includes use of Sally Hansen’s Miracle Gel Top Coat Activator.

I usually don’t wear yellow nail polish, but when I do, I don’t expect it to take so many coats. Lemon Chillo took about 4 coats to achieve opacity (no white base), and I could’ve honestly gone with a 5th coat if I wanted too. This polish applied streaky, and super thin. My swatch above also includes use of Sally Hansen’s Miracle Gel Top Coat Activator.

A good neon pink polish is a staple to any summer polish collection! Fuchsia Fever took took 3 coats to achieve full opacity (no white base). My swatch above also includes use of Sally Hansen’s Miracle Gel Top Coat Activator.

Overall, I really like Sally Hansen’s Neon Collection but wish they were more opaque. It took 3-4 coats of these polishes to reach full opacity (and Lemon Chillo needing almost 5), without a white base. I think if I was in a time crunch, I would use a white base so I wouldn’t have to apply so many layers of nail polish at one time. At $12.99 CDN each, I’d recommend only picking up the colours you will use on a constant basis so you get the most of your money. Oh, and DO pick up their Miracle Gel Top Coat Activator – it actually prolongs the life of your nail polish while wearing it!
