Customizing your own clothes can be a daunting process, which can also add up in costs. eShakti is an online clothing retailer that has a TON of clothing available, which can also be customized! Each of their items can be purchased as is, or changed up. I’ve never purchased any custom pieces before because I was afraid of it not fitting properly, being poor quality, or being too expensive.
eShakti reached out to me, asking to review one of their pieces and I was excited – I could finally try something that was made for me! After searching all over their website, I finally narrowed my choices down to a couple of dresses and coats. I wanted to get something that I’d get the most use out of, so I opted for their Animal Wool Blend Belted Coat ($149.99 CDN).
To customize their Animal Wool Blend Belted Coat, I opted for a shorter hem. I liked the length of the sleeves, and the addition of the pockets, so I didn’t change anything about these. I really like that they take into account your initial height, so it doesn’t end up too long or too short even if you customized the length. For majority of the clothes, you can pick standard sizes (small, medium, large, etc), or you can enter in your exact measurements. This would be more ideal for dresses, tops, or pants, but since I picked a coat, I just selected their size 8 (medium).

It took about 2 weeks for me to get my coat, which was totally reasonable considering it was CUSTOM made for me based on what I ordered. It was packaged beautifully, and you can tell it was made and packed with care. There was even a note included saying it was inspected before shipping out to ensure it was made correctly. Definitely such a nice addition!
The coat itself is lightweight and great material. It is lined with polytaffeta so you don’t need to worry about this being too lightweight or have any discomfort from the material, especially since it’s a double knit, wool/polyester material. As this particular coat has no closures (zipper or buttons), there is a large wide cross belt to keep it closed. I would have preferred if this did include more closure, and big black buttons would’ve actually looked really nice on this coat, but I still like it regardless – the belt works surprisingly well!
